A FAMILY-RUN BUSINESS

Learn About GI-RO Dry Cleaning In Buffalo, NY

The Giansante Family, Proudly Serving the Community for over 65 Years

Here at GI-RO Dry Cleaners, we have a lot to celebrate this year! It is our 62 year in business, spanning across three generations of owners. GI-RO was opened in 1955 by Anthony and Angela Giansante at a small location at 67 Locust Street in downtown Lockport. Back in those days, customers could just leave their clothes and money on the counter if no one was around to wait on them! As Anthony and Angela’s family grew to nine children, the business was growing too, with everyone’s help. Their son, David, remained the one with a life-long passion for the dry cleaning business. David, his wife Stacy and three of their children—Anthony Giansante, Sarah DeFlippo, and Jennifer Giansante—now own and manage GI-RO Dry Cleaners.
Today, we employ a staff of over 50 people, and each employee adds unique value to our company. We offer a wide range of services to meet all of our customers’ needs. While we specialize in dry cleaning and commercial shirt laundry, we also offer other various cleaning services including suede and leather, area rugs, drapery, and bedding. Additionally, we offer wedding gown cleaning and preservation services. We also offer alteration and repair services done by our experienced seamstresses on site at five of our seven store locations. Our seamstresses are available for fittings and to answer any customers’ questions regarding alterations.

Today GI-RO now serves the neighborhoods of East Amherst, Clarence, Clarence Center, Williamsville and Amherst. We also offer a free pickup and delivery service which allows us to reach an even broader market by servicing locations where our satellite stores are not present. We’ll save you the time and hassle of stopping at the dry cleaners every week. Our driver will come right to your door to pick up and deliver your clothes back, ready to wear, three days later.

We are committed to staying up to date with the most advanced technology in the industry. We currently use the Metalprogetti assembly conveyor which has revolutionized the way we manage customer garments. The operational change begins at the time when the customers’ garments are dropped off at GI-RO. All garments are detailed with a bar coded label, which allows us to easily track each item, increasing efficiency and accuracy throughout the entire operational process. Using our customer portal page on our website, www.girodrycleaners.com, customers can view their order status and will be notified via email as soon as their order is complete!

We are residents and business people, and as a family-run business, we realize how important it is to give back to the community. GI-RO proudly supports several local organizations including Coats4Kids, Toys for Tots, Veterans of Buffalo, Erie and Niagara County Thank a Vet Program and St. Johns Outreach Center.

From our humble beginning, we are proud to continue to serve Western New York 63 years later. Here at GI-RO, we know you have many choices when choosing a dry cleaner. We are proud to be one of largest family owned and operated dry cleaners in the area. Our number one priority is to provide the highest quality dry cleaning and shirt laundry service with the best customer service around. As always with GI-RO, “You’ll Notice the Difference!”
